I have YET to do a cosplay resolutions post and thus I really think one is overdue. I never make plans with my cosplay anymore and tend to fly by the seat of my pants, so to speak. I do really want to pick up my game more this year and push myself to make more cosplay. I always work so slow and enthusiastically on things that it's almost... sad ~_~;; not saying there's anything wrong with being slow at it; just that I personally know I work too damn slow and am able to do so much more. And so I am making myself some hefty resolutions for cosplay this year!

New Years Resolutions 2015
And now for my final installment in my series of new years resolution posts. I've already made one for cosplay as well as one for lolita; I suppose it's only logical that I also add one for my normal boring life eheheh... >_>;; I know that a lot of times when people make these resolutions they stick with them for all of a month or so before waning interest in completion or just plain giving up! Though, let's be honest, a lot of times when other's set goals to lose weight they don't seem to realize just how much work it takes! And how slow the process can be... so they fail. I don't want that. I really don't want to fail I want to succeed in making myself and my life better.
I know a few of these are going to be carry-overs from my last year. But it's because I totally spaced out or was just generally enthused with myself a lot last year. 2014 was pretty dang tough on me emotionally. However, without giving a shit for sounding cliche, I really am going to try for a "new year, new me" goal. I'll make it a reality!

Lolita Resolutions for 2015
It's that time again! Resolutions resolutions resolutions. I would be a liar if I didn't say looking back on my old post makes me feel a bit nostalgic. A LOT can change in a year- lives, tastes, pathways we walk, people we meet that influence us. Life is interesting like that though :) We're always evolving as humans and with such we seem to always change what we want and feel we need.
However... my resolutions never seem to change LOL at least not by much.
Time to review my old resolutions for 2014 and see how well I fared this time~

Lolita Resolutions for 2013
So I saw Pawawanpi make a post like this and I really liked the idea! A post about the direction, dreams, an aspirations for my lolita wardrobe. I have a lot of things planned in the future as for lolita but am also flying by the seat of my pants a bit ^^;;. So I think putting things into a list, or even just this post, is a good idea so I can come back and reflect, or just remind myself, of where I want to go and what I want to do with my collection
My goals for lolita in 2013:
~ Obtain at least 2 of the print pieces I really really love.
I have a few of these and while I know it seems almost showboat of me there are reasons I really love these dresses. To me it's not about popularity or anything of the such, as I know a good deal of them are indeed very "popular" by lolita standards. (Chess chocolate mint/ivory jabot jsk, Dream Sky navy/lavender jsk, etc etc) But it's more of me loving the print itself. It's like art to me. If I could just have bought fabric of it I would make all the things!
~ Fully construct at least 3 of the dresses I have doodled out designs for!
It's almost an addiction for me that, ever since I first discovered what lolita was 10 years ago, that I would doodle out designs for a "lolita" dress. Of course so many of them by today's standards would be considered "ita" to a lot of people: lace everywhere and large headdresses (lol). But that's what was popular back then. How -now- I have come up with some seriously cute ideas! Stay tuned for those though (Angelic Pretty should seriously hire me.)
~ Sew my own blouses.
Lolita blouses, in my opinion, are one of those things that are just so insanely prices that it boggles my mind. I've broken down the cost for a dress and so a, newly bought, brand dress generally has a "reasonable" price given costs, labor, materials and such. But a blouse, unless full of details, is just pretty fabric marked up due to a brand's name. And to be honest I don't often find blouses I actually like! So I plan to start sewing my own. This way I can cut and style them better for my body and not run the risk of measurement A or B not fitting right on a bought blouse.
~ Sell off unused/unwanted items
I have a lot of unworn skirts hanging in my closet that I didn't like for one reason or another- generally the waist band's elastic is too strong (curse you bodyline!) and I'm a bit too lazy to alter them. It annoys me because I like the prints a lot but I just can't see myself wearing the skirt at all. This has happened a lot and I need to become very diligent on selling off the skirts and shoes that do not fit either in measurements or style. Lee impulse buys and more LOVE buys!
I know this isn't a remarkable list. But goals are still goals no matter how small :) and I've got to start somewhere!

Slow to the bandwagon
It's already half a month into the year 2011 and I am JUST NOW thinking up new years resolutions. I usually don't care about such things since most get broken by just about everyone so I decided to use the first month of the year to think of goals for year. I don't want to call them "new years resolutions" or else I will almost certainly break them. I honestly want to meet someone who has kept all of their "resolutions".
After speaking with my best friend a bit over webcam yesterday he was getting really persistent about me being happy. To be honest as of late life has just been a live it day-by-day sort of occurrence; nothing spectacular or interesting out of what little joys I find here and there to make my day seem fun or worth it. I'll try not to get too much into this though since a lot of people are stuck in such situations.
So this year I want to change things; no REALLY change things. I've lived in Portland Oregon all my life now. Granted I love it here but I also love travel, new experiences, and putting myself in odd and uncomfortable situations. I have a few roads I can go down that apply to either meet or change these circumstances and I think I want to try them all.
I guess it'd be easiest and best to list things here. Not only so I can have a copy somewhere other than on my desktop where I'm usually stupid enough to delete whatever file but also so I can come back [possibly] years down the road and see if I have been able to meet, or even exceed, and totally own any of these listed goals or ideas. Blah here goes!
- Start making a selling plushies; A lot of characters I like don't have plushies. And really you have to admit that sometimes the quality of the official ones are rather lacking. I was thinking of starting with Mieu from Tales of the Abyss and also sort of "mass producing" (OK maybe 5 or 6 ) Honekoneko. I see those two selling well. I need to further investigate fabric types though. And making things on such a small scale will be a change. I don't doubt my ability but I doubt my patience haha.
- Apply at Temple University; This... this is really up in the air. I've been mulling between Japan, Korea and Taiwan for places I want to possibly further myself while attending school. I've been heavily interested in Japanese culture for a lo~ng time now and have recently started to get interested in Korea (maybe 2 years now?). Taiwan is also interesting since they are known to have good schools but seems kind of less safe than the others. Though given the situation, and especially recent events, in Korea I guess Taiwan has moved up in rank for "safeness" :( As for Japan I know a lot of people there; people attending school, stationed in the military, and also pen pals and exchange students I've met over the years. Japan is kind of winning... but is Japan what I "want"? This is what I have to figure out.
-Promote myself more in the cosplay community; I've been into it for a long time and have actually been TRYING to fly under the radar. I've been rather successful at it really but have had a bit of a change of heart. I never thought it'd actually be a hobby that could open so many doors. I have been commissioned to make clothes, mend, and alter things for people. But I didn't think it would become such a HUGE community over the years. I guess I was just so used to the drama and bull that people usually dragged me into that I wanted nothing of it. "Because no matter how nice you are to everyone, someone, somewhere, is sick of your shit."
-Weeding out negativity in my life; One of what I thought to be my best friends has also been one of the most negative forces in my life. We had a bit of a falling out before Kumori Con (September) and since then she has played victim to anything and everything. I've come to realize and identify these things. I know I have tried to help her and get her thinking more positively over the years but I think it's time to just cut her from my life- and that makes me sad. We had a lot of good times together but since she seems to have a new crowd of people that better fit her mental state (both in age and damage) I think she'll be fine.
I hardly ever make resolutions... it's really difficult. So generally I just make a list of goals. I may be talking about these things NOW but I don't know if any of them will every come to fruition or I'll just get stuck ina rut again :( I hope 2011 is kind to me...
