Lolita Resolutions 2016

In 2016 my views on lolita as a hobby have changed greatly. While I still love and enjoy it I quickly find myself being drawn more and more to multi-use pieces and more toned-down sweet/classic hybrids. I still love a lot of Angelic Pretty's older super sweet prints but I really do enjoy the new more subtle and toned-down pieces they've been releasing. I've also found a ton of their non-print dresses that I adore but am having one heck of a time finding D: So while on the hunt I'm getting more and more of an urge to start sewing my own- which honestly is a good idea! Since I have so much nice random fabric in my bins and almost nothing to use it for >_>;;

Anyway. Let's take a look back on last years resolutions and see how awesome [or terribly] I've done!~

Lolita Resolutions for 2015

It's that time again! Resolutions resolutions resolutions. I would be a liar if I didn't say looking back on my old post makes me feel a bit nostalgic. A LOT can change in a year- lives, tastes, pathways we walk, people we meet that influence us. Life is interesting like that though :) We're always evolving as humans and with such we seem to always change what we want and feel we need.
However... my resolutions never seem to change LOL at least not by much.

Time to review my old resolutions for 2014 and see how well I fared this time~

Lolita Resolutions for 2014

Sadly to say I didn't achieve a whole lot of my resolutions for 2013 that I listed in my previous post. I haven't been sewing as much lately which makes me sad :( I miss the creativity of it and really wish I had more time for it. I still love it though and am going to try with all my might to sew more!

Let's do a [disappointing] list breakdown from last year!

Planning New Years

Was at work last night checking out the schedule for New Years to see if we were given any time off. And we do. But get this...
Seriously...
GET THIS...

They want me to work Monday, have Tuesday off, and come back for the rest of the week. Not a big deal, right? They're giving people the "hangover day" off so they don't have a bunch of people calling in sick and such. But what gets me is that they made no accommodation, or maybe gave no thought, to the people that work a totally different shift.

Sure, if you work a 9-5 job there's no big deal. Tuesday off? GREAT! But that's not how most of the worker's schedules are. For instance I start work at 6pm and get off at 2:30am. THE HOLIDAY WOULD ALREADY BE OVER. And, furthermore, The time I would be heading home has got to be one of the most dangerous times to be on the road! 2am is when bars close around where I live and there just so happens to be one RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM WORK.


So my coworker and I were discussing it and wrote up a note for HR together asking if we could have Monday off (because it's the actual freaking holiday) and come in to work on Tuesday. This way the work will still get to the other departments in time but won't royally screw over the people working a late shift.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what HR says about this.
